Counseling Services

Hello! I am Mrs. Brandenburg

Thank You for visitng! I am the school counselor and I thoroughly enjoy assiting and getting to know our students.

I began teaching in Berkeley County, WV in 2008 as a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Martinsburg North, and Musselman Middle schools. While teaching, I was finishing up my Masters in School Counseling. In 2014 I served as a split counselor at Eagle Intermediate, and later was split between North and South Middle, serving 6th grade at both sites before being invited to C.W. Shipley.

Jefferson County is our home and I am very happy to have the opportinuty to serve my immediate community. Through our 26 years of marriage, we have raised 2 sons. Our oldest serves in the United States Air Force and our youngest is currently attending WVU for his secondary education degree with a certification in History. He is also a talented musician. Our family loves the outdoors and all the activities that come along with it. Our most involved activity includes cycling.

As a counselor, it is my goal to help students become confident, independent, successful students, and competent members of society. This is accomplished by short-term, solution focused strategies. This approach assists students in developing independent problem solving and critical thinking skills. Classroom lessons are incorporated monthly, and small groups are created on a needs basis.
